The BSN program at AMA is a Pre-licensure program for undergraduate study leading to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Nursing. The B.S.N. The Pre-licensure program is designed to prepare students for a professional nursing career. This is a three-year to four-year program that prepares students for the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX). The profession of nursing requires the items listed below but is not limited to:
- Assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation of care
- Health education and counseling of individuals who may be injured
- Health promotion, wellness maintenance, and illness prevention
- Administration of therapeutic interventions as well as medication administration as prescribed in accordance with standards of nursing practice.
The AMA nursing program is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools.

Admission Requirements
In order to be eligible for registration, students must be at least 18 years old and possess the following:
- High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent (Post Secondary/ College Transcripts CANNOT be used for registration purposes.)
- Valid Florida Driver’s License or Valid Florida ID
- Official College Transcripts for Credit Transfer (If applicable)
*Note: All students will be required to pass a nursing entrance exam prior to enrolling and participating in core nursing courses.*
Program Objectives
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as a Registered Nurse (RN); the student can apply to the Florida Board of Nursing to take the RN-NCLEX exam to acquire a Florida Nursing License. This will allow the student to work at a profession level of nursing. The student will be able to see employment in Hospitals, Clinics, Home Health Center, Schools and Doctors’ Offices.
Upon successful completion of this program the student shall be able to:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care based upon individual preferences, values, and needs with an emphasis on the client needs as well as respecting patient or designee choices while providing compassionate, coordinated, age and culturally appropriate, safe and effective care.
