American Medical Academy (AMA) began in 2006 as an institution focused on Emergency Medical Services (EMS) education, with an emphasis on accelerated, career-focused training. AMA is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), and its Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
AMA is also an official American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center and National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) Training Center. Through its AHA Training Center, AMA offers essential life-saving certification courses for healthcare professionals and the community, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Since its founding, AMA has developed a strong reputation for providing quality healthcare education through hands-on training, modern instructional methods, technology-enhanced learning, simulation, and practical clinical experiences. Our approach combines traditional classroom instruction with contemporary educational resources to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Today, AMA serves a diverse student population and offers programs in Emergency Medical Services, including Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, and an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Services, as well as an Associate Degree in Nursing.
Conveniently located in South Florida, AMA provides students with modern classrooms, skills and demonstration laboratories, simulation facilities, computer and testing resources, and dedicated areas designed to support both academic and hands-on learning.

Our campus is designed to deliver an exceptional learning experience, featuring eight spacious, air-conditioned classrooms, two fully equipped libraries, and five advanced simulation laboratories—including a fully immersive indoor simulation ambulance. Two centrally located computer labs and testing centers between the EMS and Nursing departments ensure convenient access to essential technology and assessment resources.
